Attention Monroe Township Permit Holders and Residents

The Central Keystone Council of Governments (CKCOG) is an organization of central Pennsylvania municipalities which have pooled resources to more efficiently manage the Uniform Construction Code, Property Maintenance, Rental Licensing programs and Zoning Enforcement.  Through this cooperation, member communities are able to deliver efficient, cost-effective inspection services to homeowners, businesses and the contractors and builders who are serving them.

This notice as a courtesy to let you know of current changes to the ‘contractual’ relationship between Monroe Township, Snyder County and the CKCOG. As with any contract terms, Monroe Township and the CKCOG have always reserved the right to terminate the agreement with a 60-day notice to either party.  The Monroe Township Supervisors took action to terminate the current UCC Building Inspection contract at their March meeting.

Therefore, effective June 24, 2017, the CKCOG will no longer be providing UCC Building Permitting and inspection services to the residents of Monroe Township.

However, if your UCC Application for Plans Examination and Building Permit was submitted prior to this deadline, the CKCOG will still issue your UCC Building Permit and continue to perform inspections through completion of such UCC Building Permit. You should continue to contact our office as inspections are required, and will receive your Certificate of Occupancy from this agency.

In the future (after June 24, 2017), should you need to apply for a new UCC Building Permit, please contact Monroe Township to be directed to their new Building Code Official (BCO) of record.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation during this transition.
